As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll lead the design and development of a cutting-edge data platform that fuels impactful research, personalized therapies, and operational excellence. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, your work will directly enhance patient care, making meaningful change for thousands worldwide.
Day to day:
* End-to-end development and deployment of a scalable and robust data platform.
* Mentor other Data Engineers and Data Platform Engineers, providing technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, data needs, and use cases, and translate them into effective data platform solutions.
* Deliver the design and architecture of components of the data platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
* Oversee the data acquisition and integration processes, working closely with data providers and external partners to ensure the quality and reliability of incoming data.
* Monitor and optimise the performance of the data platform, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Qualifications
* Working knowledge of the overall SDLC process for data products - including but not limited to building Docker images, provisioning infrastructure, CI/CD and coding best practices.
* Strong technical expertise in data engineering, big data technologies, cloud platforms (such as AWS or GCP), data warehousing, and ELT processes.
* Proficiency in programming languages like Typescript and SQL.
* Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools such as AWS CDK, CDKTF or Terraform.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Solid understanding of data governance, data privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements.
* Experience working across different time zones
* Ability to work in a hybrid model (combination of on-site and working from home)
* Open to working outside standard hours to collaborate with teams across Australia and the UK.
