PE Global are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on behalf of our Energy client in Dublin. The role is based on an initial 12-month contract and has a hybrid working option available.
Role Profile:
We have an exciting opportunity in Core Finance Team in the Corporate Services Department. The Finance Department is responsible for managing the Finance functions of the Authority and includes Core Finance and Finance Operations and Analytics. The Finance team provides support across several key areas including reporting (management, Board and Audit committee), audit (internal and external) budget management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial analysis.
Within this department the Core Finance team are responsible for overseeing all payments to ensure that they are paid appropriately and in accordance with strong governance and internal controls. The team is also responsible for the annual budgeting process, internal monthly reporting, forecasting and preparation of year end statutory accounts. The Financial Accountant will be required to work closely with all members of the finance team and reports to the Financial Controller or his/her nominee.
This position will play a key role in the above Department.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the role outlined in this job description are indicative of the currently envisaged scope and may be added to or altered as required, in line with the requirements across Business Units/Department.
They will include, but not limited to, the following:
1. Review and maintenance of user access to core finance system and updating documentation in relation the access controls.
2. Management of key accounts, analysing costs ensuring these are in line with contracts and achieving value for money.
3. Management of core Debtors ledger including posting invoices, reconciliation with source data from out-sourced provider, tax compliance and credit control.
4. Analysis of key supplier accounts and cost centres that will feed into management review and decision making in these areas.
5. Review and sign off employee expenses including preparing and filing Revenue EER returns.
6. Co-ordination and submission of periodic regulatory reports to parent department.
7. Assistance with annual Vat reports (819B).
8. Improving internal workflows and processes in place with other areas of corporate services and the wider organisation.
9. Preparation of ad hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
10. Provide support to the Financial Controller in managing the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department.
Essential Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
11. Fully qualified accountant with membership of a prescribed accountancy body ( ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA), Min Level 7 NFQ.
12. Five years’ post qualification experience.
13. Experience working as part of a core finance function in a relevant industry, including:
14. Proven evidence of providing financial analysis to support decision making.
15. Experience working with financial controls.
16. Experience processing Sales invoices and managing Debtors.
17. Strong systems experience including:
18. Experience managing and controlling finance systems and modules.
19. Experience building and managing strong internal control systems.
Desirable Requirements:
20. Knowledge/ Experience of working in the Public Sector.
21. Knowledge/ Experience of Sustainable Energy.
