Cliff House Hotel is now recruiting for a Day and Night Porter to join our team and provide exceptional guest service.
Job Purpose:
To assist guests with their luggage, ensure smooth check-in and check-out processes, and contribute to the overall guest experience by offering exceptional service. The Porter is a key part of the front-of-house team, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and cared for throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities:
* Guest Assistance:
Greet guests upon arrival and assist with luggage from the moment they arrive at the hotel until they reach their room.
Provide directions and escort guests to their rooms while offering assistance with explaining room features and hotel amenities.
Assist guests with check-out by transporting luggage from their rooms to vehicles or storage.
Offer guests assistance with local information, transport arrangements, and recommendations for local attractions and services.
* Luggage and Deliveries:
Safely transport luggage and personal items to and from guest rooms.
Handle and store luggage for guests checking in early or leaving late.
Manage the storage and retrieval of guest belongings in the hotel's luggage room.
Deliver items such as newspapers, packages, or room service items to guest rooms as required.
* Hotel Maintenance:
Ensure the cleanliness and order of the lobby, entrance areas, and any designated porter stations.
Maintain the cleanliness of luggage trolleys and ensure all equipment is in working condition.
* Valet Parking:
Assist with parking guest vehicles when required, ensuring care and responsibility at all times.
Retrieve vehicles promptly upon request.
* Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Front Desk and Concierge to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the management, including helping in other departments during busy periods.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Customer Service Skills: A warm, friendly demeanor and the ability to handle guest requests and concerns professionally.
* Physical Fitness: The role involves lifting, carrying, and being on your feet for extended periods.
* Communication: Good verbal communication skills to interact with guests and staff members effectively.
* Problem-solving: The ability to think quickly and resolve guest issues with a positive attitude.
* Attention to Detail: Ensure guest belongings are handled carefully, and guest requests are met accurately.
* Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or within the hospitality industry is an advantage, though not always essential.
* Full, Clean Driving License (for valet duties).
