Reporting to a project manager and working across the growth & development programme as part of the central team, the assistant project manager’s focus will be on central support tasks that are critical to enabling programme delivery. The growth & delivery programme oversees both publicly and customer funded programmes of works involving water and wastewater network infrastructure to support growth demand nationally. The role will involve close liaison with both internal functions and external service providers and stakeholders, the Assistant Project Manager will help to coordinate and carry out key central team tasks that are critical to programme delivery.

You will ensure quality systems are suitably managed in line with service excellence.
You will support delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.
You will manage tasks and associated deliverables in support of project managers and senior leaders, alongside the wider project and client teams, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of the project.
Management of tender pipeline.
Coordination of key interfaces with asset planning to monitor handover of projects, collating/sharing information to allow scheduling team to accurately forecast against.
Support the preparation & tracking of tender documentation, for the procurement of delivery partners to carry out design, and construction of the project/programme.
Management and updating of existing trackers as required.
Assist and provide support to the team in contract admin.
Develop and update templates.
Coordinating and liaising with the Commercial/Contract Services team with contract execution.
Assisting wider Project Management Team with collation and issuing of contract documents.
Collating and issuing contracts for review and signing through Docusign.
Regular reviewing and updating of programme contract documents including\: AF1/PSCS/PSDP etc. where required.
Liaise and coordinate project oracle ID generation with the finance team as required.
Supporting the development of submissions to governance forums from approval gates 2 to gate 4.
Monitoring performance and liaising with our supply chain to agree application of monthly KPI’s to payment applications.
Identifying training requirements of the team and coordinating suitable training to be applied
Coordinate and identify with the team project and programme level efficiencies. Collate and validate with the cost intelligence team.
Identify with the central team project management, technical assurance, resident engineer and site supervision resource requirements on a monthly basis. Coordinate and liaise with the PMO team as required for additional resources.
Responsible for onboarding and raising service requests as required.
Assist in reviewing monthly payment applications by liaising and validating time allocations with the wider project management team.
Managing the collation and reporting of project/programme risks and opportunities, as well as the management of associated contingencies, escalating where required on RCMS.
Facilitating quarterly risk review meetings, coordinating central team reviews in advance of quarterly risk reviews with wastewater below ground portfolio.
Support the wider project management team with budget uploading upon approval of programme and gate paper submissions.
Assist in the review and preparation of cost estimates with connection developer services, by liaising will all relevantly parties and in accordance with cost estimation procedures.
Provide system support to the wider team by developing a working understanding of each system, coordinating assistance where required and undertaking regular audits to ensure compliance with procedures i.e. uploading of man hours to sims, update of project costing tool.
Collate project and programme documentation, metrics, etc. as required for the successful management, reporting and oversight of the project/programme.
Co-ordinate project/ programme performance data through the regular monthly update cycles for performance monitoring and reporting purposes.
Adopt an adaptable and flexible approach to change, innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
Coordinate and schedule meetings with stakeholders and the supply chain as required. Collate and share notes to relevant parties.

You’ll need to have\:
Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable.
A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable.
Demonstrated people management ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff.
Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others.
Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements and propose and implement solutions.
Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
You’ll also have:
Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
Experience in project management, ideally in a property or infrastructure sector.
A developing knowledge of commercial and financial considerations.
Experience of developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
