We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer for our client, a leading Irish supplier of scientific laboratory and process equipment to the medical, pharma and laboratory sectors. This is a field-based role involving travel to customer sites carrying out equipment installations, calibrations, and ongoing support. There is a level of flexibility and ownership of your work required. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing, vibrant team in a well-established Irish company.
The successful candidate is required to be self-motivated, able to travel within their relevant assigned area of work in Ireland, and possess relevant knowledge and experience in a mechanical and electrical/electronic background.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own and drive your work schedule to meet and exceed customer and company needs.
* Carry out equipment installations, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting/repairs when required.
* Complete and thoroughly execute documentation such as IQ, OQ, PQ documents, detailed service reports, and calibration certificates.
* Support customers with any queries and provide routine/urgent support via phone, email, or site visits depending on schedule availability.
* Travel within your designated work area with occasional support to other regions when required. This may involve overnight stays when necessary.
Key Qualifications & Skills Required:
* A relevant trade or qualification in an electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, or similar background.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; this is a customer-facing role, and you will represent the company while on site with customers.
* Fundamental understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems and ideally, experience in a Field Service position in a similarly technical industry.
* Troubleshooting and repair experience is desirable with a strength in either electrical or mechanical.
