The School of Geography is ranked in the QS Top 100 Geography Departments globally and 1st in Ireland, our school is a centre of excellence for geographic research and education. UCD School of Geography has one of the largest undergraduate programmes in UCD, a vibrant graduate community and is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence in geography-specific and interdisciplinary research. The School of Geography has a diverse undergraduate geography programme and a suite of graduate geography programmes that align with the research interests of staff. These include: MSc Geospatial Data Analysis, MSc Risk, Resilience and Sustainability, MA Geopolitics and the Global Economy, MSc Critical Geographies, and MA Geography. In addition, there are research Masters and PhD programmes. Applications are invited for a position as Lecturer/Asst Professor (below the bar) in the UCD School of Geography. Applicants must have an established research track record and be capable of excellent undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as demonstrated administrative leadership and engagement. The successful applicant will be expected to teach human geography modules with a particular focus on historical geography, cultural heritage and/or urban geography and regional development. We are particularly interested in candidates with a particular emphasis on Ireland as the candidate will be required to deliver field-based modules, including a residential fieldcourse. This is a temporary (1 year) post. 95 Lecturer/Asst Professor Below the Bar (7944) Salary Scale: €40,682- €69,886 Per Annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
