Technical Architect - Small and Medium Business EMEA

The Technical Architect works with Salesforce's Small & Medium Business (SMB) customers across all industries. As pre-sales engineers and architects, we partner with our customers to drive digital transformation within their companies, and support the sales team in winning new business.
Your Impact - Responsibilities
* Work with EMEA SMB customers to solve technical challenges using Salesforce solutions, collaborating with sales and solution engineering teams.
* Develop relationships and act as a trusted advisor to CIO/CTO/CISO and their teams, guiding them towards long-term success with Salesforce.
* Understand customer needs and establish Salesforce as the best solution addressing technical and business requirements.
* Present Salesforce technology infrastructure, demonstrating familiarity with platform capabilities, hosting infrastructure, security, and integration capabilities.
* Conduct architecture and technical workshops, providing actionable technical recommendations aligned with client business objectives.
* Handle customer technical due diligence and risk management processes.
* Translate business requirements into solution architectures and roadmaps leveraging the Salesforce platform and products for successful implementation and adoption.
* Participate in product, sales, and procedural training and certification to maintain knowledge necessary for the position.
* Lead the SMB Technical Architect Community, enabling less technical solutions colleagues and acting as a multiplier.
* Collaborate with stakeholders, such as alliances, sales programs, product, and product marketing, to develop and execute internal and external programs.
* Attain quarterly and annual objectives assigned by management.
* Mentor junior team members and guide more experienced colleagues within the ESMB Solution Engineering organisation and Account Executive teams.
Requirements
Baseline Requirements:
* Ability to understand business and IT department requirements, translating those needs into compelling solutions and presenting recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences.
* Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications, including several areas such as database and data management fundamentals, web and mobile application development and architecture, application lifecycle management, integration principles and tools, and process orchestration.
* Good understanding of cloud-based platforms, including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tenancy, multi-tiered infrastructure, etc.
* Strong communication and relationship skills, as well as time management skills and the ability to support multiple concurrent projects.
* Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Requirements:
* Experience working as an architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in a customer-facing role that provided differentiated software technology solutions.
* Hands-on experience building, implementing, administering, or maintaining enterprise software.
* Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance, and security.
* Experience with design thinking, persona-based discovery, or other innovation techniques.
* Industry experience in a specific field, vertical, or market segment is helpful.
* Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including Salesforce Certifications and/or Trailhead Superbadges.
