Salary range: €15.17 per hour
Experience: Experience working as a chef in a similar role, with proven knowledge of dietary preparation, ideally in a home for the elderly or holiday home. A qualification in catering or a related field is required. HACCP trained.
The Role: Relief Chef - Bundoran Residential Home for Older Persons
We are currently looking to recruit a Casual Relief Chef to join our Children and Family Services team in Bundoran, Co. Donegal. The post holder will be responsible for preparing and cooking healthy and quality meals for all service users of Bundoran Residential Centre for Older Persons. The chef will cater for additional dietary requirements as needed, budget, plan, and ensure that stock levels are kept replenished at all times. The chef will also be responsible for shopping for food, preparing it, and cooking it. Candidate Requirements:
* A qualification in catering or a related field
* Experience working as a chef in a similar role
* Experience working in a holiday home, hotel, bar, or similar organisation
* Comprehensive knowledge and competence in professional cookery
* An ability to cater for specific dietary requirements and experience of cooking for large numbers
* An ability to produce food to the required standard, using correct methods and equipment
* Detailed knowledge and commitment to food hygiene and best practices including HACCP
* An ability to provide safe food management, adhere to standards of personal hygiene, and prepare food professionally
* Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
