Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting an EHS Specialist on behalf of our Multinational Pharmaceutical Client based in Cork on an initial 12-Month contract with potential to extend.
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary role - Conduct EHS Impact Assessments (IA) as part of Management of Change process to ensure that all EHS requirements and company standards are incorporated.
Implement 'EH&S by Design' & OneCSS as required for projects.
Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, JSAs, noise/IH/ergonomics/WRAPs (machine safety) assessments, FATs/SATs, and walkdowns as required.
Support IA action closure & tracking.
Perform periodic walkdowns/audits/programme reviews to ensure compliance with PTW requirements, IED licence, SOPs & regulatory requirements.
Collating and reporting of relevant metrics/KPIs.
Lead/participate in incident/accident investigations & root cause analyses (RCA).PTW Improvements - work with other functions to drive improvements in the site PTW process.

She/he will have a strong EHS general/technical knowledge and experience in the Bio/Pharma industry or equivalent, be a strong effective communicator with all stakeholders.
She/he will be a strong collaborator with a proven track and a strong networker able to leverage EHS&S expertise on and off site.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working to ISO14001 and ISO45001 international standards, preferably within a Biopharma/pharmaceutical or related environment is required
ESSENTIAL:
A relevant third level qualification in Science, Engineering or EHS, with at least 5 years' experience in the environment, health and safety area is a prerequisite for the position.
Good overall knowledge of legal requirements and best practices in both Environment and Safety.
Creates dashboards, power-point presentations and can track and trend KPI's, assembling information into clearly written reports, documented findings or recommendations and communicate this progress in an easily understandable manner to all stakeholders.
DESIRABLE:
Machine safety experience would be a distinct advantage.
Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
A flexible approach, good priority setting skills and ability to deal with multiple tasks.
