MiCRA Technology Gateway Located on the TU Dublin – Tallaght campus, MiCRA Technology Gateway is an industry-focused research & development facility supported by Enterprise Ireland's Technology Gateways programme, which is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
This support enables the MiCRA Technology Gateway to be funded through industrial collaboration with Irish companies undertaking cutting edge research and development on new scientific products and processes.
As a result, the MiCRA Technology Gateway has a growing portfolio of applied research making knowledge and expertise accessible to local and national industry.

This is an industry facing technical position for an individual from a scientific background.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of business opportunities through the promotion of the expertise and services provided by the MiCRA Technology Gateway to industry, new project pipeline development and project acquisition.
The role will engage with industry to stimulate project engagement in applied research and to facilitate interactions with the MiCRA Technology Gateway.
The individual will oversee the operations of MiCRA Technology Gateway in coordination with the other Technology Gateway managers located on the TU Dublin campus.
This role involves customer relationship management, resource allocation, coordinating projects, and ensuring that all activities align with strategic goals set out by the MiCRA's Industry Steering Committee.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a background in research and development, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to deliver successful outcomes for customers.
The MiCRA Technology Gateway manager will be supported by other Technology Gateway staff and TU Dublin academic principal investigators who will have expertise in the core technologies that underpin the MiCRA technical and research offering.
The MiCRA Technology Gateway manager will provide input into the development of the strategic vision for the growth of the TU Dublin Technology Gateways and assist in implementing the strategy.
The industrial research operation within the MiCRA Technology Gateway involves industrial research projects fully funded by a company, state-funded projects such as Enterprise Ireland's Commercialisation Fund projects, co-funded industry/state-funded projects such as Enterprise Ireland Innovation Partnership projects, Enterprise Ireland Innovation Vouchers and other national and international funding programmes.
Overarching responsibilities Key responsibilities Ensure that the MiCRA Technology Gateway meets its contractual obligations under the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Programme, namely developing industrial relationships and generating projects with industrial partners to achieve the metrics for the programme.Act as a point of contact for industry to engage with the applied research activities of the Technology Gateway resources and expertise.
Support the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways industry engagement process and develop a pipeline to engage, qualify, propose, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project outputs with clients.Attend Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway meetings, provide Enterprise Ireland with all necessary external reports related to the performance of the MiCRA Technology Gateway, and attend review meetings as required.Engage with the Irish based companies on a regular basis to capture feedback on the work of the MiCRA Technology Gateway and new requirements for research and service offerings.Advance the Technology Gateways marketing and communications strategy to reach out and create awareness of the capabilities and services within Irish industry and other Technology Gateway Network members.Report on a regular basis to the relevant bodies including Enterprise Ireland, TU Dublin and MiCRA Industrial Steering board on the performance of the Gateway.Market the MiCRA Technology Gateway applied research themes and engage with industry partners to generate targeted levels of industrial engagement and a project pipeline.Prepare, deliver and present material that promotes the Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateway Programme at trade exhibitions, workshops, events and conferences.Promote the MiCRA Technology Gateway as a resource for local and national industry with provision of access to expertise/resources/facilities, to include ongoing maintenance and development of the gateway website and related marketing materials and social media.Facilitate access to equipment and research facilities where relevant.Support the preparation and development of applications for future Technology Gateway funding calls and other funding calls that the MiCRA Technology Gateway is eligible to submit applications.Any other duties assigned to the Technology Gateway Manager that are compatible with the nature and status of the post.Ensure that the MiCRA Technology Gateway operates within the University's procedures and guidelines.Compile progress reports such as monthly industry project and quarterly reports to Enterprise Ireland.

Eligibility to compete Eligibility to compete is open to candidates who are citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland.

The main terms and conditions of employment are as follows:
Tenure: This post is offered on a fixed term wholetime basis up to the project end date of the 31st December 2029.
Location: The post will be based at the TU Dublin Tallaght Campus.
Regular attendance at other sites will be required.
Salary: The successful candidate will be appointed at point (01) of the Assistant Principal Officer Salary Scale i.e.
€85,645 gross per annum.
Under normal circumstances, new entrants to the Public Sector will commence on point 1 of the salary scale.
Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
Incremental credit may apply in line with university policy.
Hours of work: A 35-hour working week is in operation.
This can be reviewed by collective agreement, with the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
Having regard to the nature of the work, attendance outside these hours may be required from time-to-time.
Probation: The terms of the University's Staff Induction policy and Probation procedure may apply.
Annual leave: Annual Leave and Public Holidays shall be granted as per the Holidays (Employees) Act 1973 and Organisation of Working Time Act 1997.
The annual leave entitlement for this post is 30 days per annum this is inclusive of the University closure days.
Retirement: This is a pensionable post.
