Heavy Plant Operator
We have an exciting vacancy for a Heavy Plant Operator to join our busy and expanding Post-Production team.
The Heavy Plant Operator will assist and support in the movement of products around site and final loading of products for dispatch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Operation of a range of heavy plant machinery including, but not limited to, Combilift Skip, Shunter, various size Forklifts, Straddle Carrier, etc.
* Act as banksman for gantry crane operation including goliath crane.
* Act as relief operator for goliath crane.
* Assist in strapping down of loads.
* Provide on-the-job training to trainees in the department.
* Actively learn from senior members of team.
* Performance of all tasks per health, safety and quality standards.
* Ensuring work area is kept clean and clutter/hazard free.
* Act as a role model for health and safety practices within team.
* Completion of other reasonable tasks which may be assigned.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Prior experience in operating heavy plant vehicles and lifting equipment an advantage.
* Prior experience in movement of heavy loads an advantage.
* Prior experience working in precast industry an advantage but not essential.
* Knowledge of precast lifting and movement processes an advantage.
* Enthusiastic and motivated with a willingness to learn.
* Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Flexibility of duties and working hours.
* Awareness and respect for health and safety rules and procedures.
* Keen attention to detail.
* Proven record of good timekeeping and attendance.
Additional Information:
* Must be willing and available to work day shift hours Monday to Friday with occasional weekend overtime.
* Training will be provided.
Compensation and Benefits:
* Competitive salary depending on experience: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum.
* 23 days annual leave.
