Job Description
This position is with a leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering company in Ireland.
The company has extensive experience delivering complex projects in various industries, including Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Public Works, industrial, and Commercial.
Initially based in the Waterford area, you may be required to work in the south/southeast of the country depending on projects.
You will report directly to the Project Manager.
This is a site-based role where you will act as the project Engineering lead on site and primary point of contact for both the Main Contractor and Subcontractors.
You will manage scope, programme, and resources on a day-to-day basis.
You will develop junior Engineer's in their role and oversee the Submittal and Procurement process & LOG's.
On site coordination with Main Contractor and other trades, including attending meetings as necessary.
Attendance at weekly meetings with Design Team / Main Contractor.
You will develop positive relationships with all project stakeholders.
Assisting Project Manager in reporting on project status.
Day-to-day management of subcontractors on site.
You will implement policies and standards, particularly in relation to Health & Safety and Quality I&TP.
You will be responsible for commissioning and control strategy for the project.
You will lead commissioning activities for the project.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
You will assist in generating and uploading weekly progress reports with Project Manager.
Requirements
A relevant 3rd level qualification is required.
3-4 years' experience in a similar role is necessary.
You must be results-driven with excellent communication skills.
Experience in technical submittals is essential.
Experience in commissioning and handover procedures is required.
A proven strong work ethic is necessary.
Proven experience in successful projects is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
You should be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Engineering Management:
* Develop and implement project engineering plans and schedules.
* Manage and coordinate engineering resources.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Site Coordination:
* Coordinate with main contractor and subcontractors.
* Attend site meetings and ensure that issues are addressed promptly.
Commissioning:
* Develop and implement commissioning plans and strategies.
* Lead commissioning activities on site.
Quality and Health & Safety:
* Implement and maintain quality and health and safety policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Reporting and Communication:
* Prepare and submit regular project reports.
* Communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
