Role Purpose: Manage the Category Specialists, World Foods and Development Chef teams to support and deliver annual sales and profit targets and grow the Foodservice business across all channels (Collect, Delivered & Digital) delivering our brand essence of First for Choice, First for Value, First for Service Role Scope: Increase foodservice market share within the Foodservice business and customers within across all regions to include collect, delivered & digital channels.
The role will also support retail channels where appropriate.
Role Specification - Key Activities Achievement of budget targets & stretch targets as outlined by the Director of Food Service & Wholesale Sales Lead the Meat & Fresh Produce teams to build and implement robust commercial strategies that will deliver budgeted sales & profit growth Lead the World Foods team to deliver budgeted sales and profit growth for each region Lead the Development Chef team to support the Food Service and Retail channels through customer demonstrations, Innovation and menu solutions, marketing materials and ensuring an environment of Food Excellence within the business Profitably grow the business by ensuring a clear focus on sales & profit development including new business development through effective prospecting & drive loyalty through management of existing accounts, margin & contract management, new product launches etc Central Management of assigned Key Accounts eg Windward Support the Food Service team with digital platform on-boarding and using data analytics to present opportunities Effective Management & motivation of the Specialist & world Foods sales team Define, implement & manage the sales processes to include; CRM, journey plans, account information/ data, customer contact information databases, in-call reports etc, carryout field accompaniments & follow up actions as appropriate Achieve lowest cost through ensuring effective customer service, forecasting, waste management and cross functional initiatives Ensure the successful management of debt & margin for the specialist categories in line with budget targets & company policy.
Ensure that external relationships with customers & suppliers (as appropriate) are managed in line with customer service best practice Organisation & management of monthly Foodservice Area sales team meetings & attendance at each monthly Regional Sales & Ops Meeting.
Be an active & effective member of the Regional Teams across Wholesale to successfully deliver the Foodservice business development strategy for each region Build & maintain strong relationships & communication links with the Regional Sales & Operations teams Work with the Director of Foodservice & Wholesale Sales & peers to develop Foodservice business plans & initiatives delivered through best-in-class field sales execution Work closely with Customer Service, Branch Management & Operations, Supply Chain, Transport, Trading & Marketing Teams to optimise our offer in the area and driver customer advocacy Measures: Sales & profitability Customer Advocacy Customer retention and Growth New business development Experience, Skills and Education Third level qualification specialising in Sales/Marketing/Food/Business Excellent Communication & Relationship Management Skills Commercial acumen & strategic business planning Report writing & presentation skills Achievement and results oriented Strong people & performance management skills People development & coaching 5 - 8 years knowledge / experience in Foodservice/FMCG sector Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
