The Financial Accountant is a varied and wide-ranging role. Reporting directly to the ARI Group Financial Controller, it is part of a lean group finance team of four but sits as part of a wider finance function of circa twenty. Working as part of a highly ambitious team, it is a key finance role within the business, supporting the highly experienced CFO and Group Financial Controller.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide timely, accurate and insightful financial & management reporting and analysis for the ARI International business. This is a broad and interesting role, with oversight across the entire global ARI business. It requires excellent technical skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral). This role also requires a determined candidate capable of self-motivation with the ability to work on their own initiative, and a desire to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment. You will attain specialist skills in terms of consolidation and business combinations accounting (multi-currency and complex due to organisation structure) and you will get the opportunity to interact with stakeholders across various different time zones and cultures.
Minimum Requirements:
* Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 1-2 years post qualified experience.
* Post qualified experience working in group reporting or audit.
* A good working knowledge of consolidation accounting, proficiency in FRS 102 and familiar with IFRS is advantageous.
* Strong IT skills – Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Oracle, GL Wand, ERP systems.
* Ability to work and communicate effectively with different functions / regions / cultures / stakeholders.
* Strong commercial acumen and comfortable presenting to and reporting to senior management.
* Proven ability to work on own initiative.

* Experience working in a financial accountant role in retail or a similar commercial environment advantageous.
* Big four trained background preferred.
* A third level qualification in Business Studies or Accountancy.

Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of the consolidated ARI Group monthly management accounts in accordance with FRS 102 (consolidation of 14 global entity locations with managed turnover of circa €1.2 billion).
* Ensure standardization of reporting approach for all locations (e.g., from their local GAAP or IFRS to FRS 102).
* Collation, preparation and on time delivery of the ARI Group monthly management reporting packs including KPI reports and business unit operational reports.
* Play a key role in the interim and year end external audit process to ensure that the process runs smoothly and in accordance with the planning timetable and audit requirements.
* Financial analysis to guide various functions within the business and enable key decisions to be made. This includes reviewing costs and overseeing budgeting & forecasting activities with head office cost centre owners.
* Support the preparation of the ARI Group consolidated year end audit file and liaising with daa Group Finance and external auditors in the preparation of ARI Group financial statements and annual tax computations.
* Liaise with daa Group Finance, daa Shared Services Centre (SSC) and ARI business units in respect of inter-company charges, treasury, tax, and other accounting issues.
* Work closely with daa SSC to ensure delivery of efficient transactional support to ARI, including obtaining invoice approvals and ensuring GL coding is correct.
* Preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
* Maintain oversight of ARI bank accounts and set up online payments for approval as required.
* Continuous focus on improving BI and Oracle reporting.
* Prepare annual audit pack for head office companies for external auditors.
* Technical accounting analysis and provide advice on new / significant transactions and accounting standards.
* Contribute to a strong control environment within the financial team. Ensure that key controls and reconciliation processes are kept up to date.
