Financial Controller
My client is a highly successful Irish company in the midlands. They are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join their senior management team.
Main duties:
1. Financial Reporting
o Provide agreed daily, weekly and monthly management information reports
o Prepare detailed budgets for all business activities
o Ensure tax compliance on VAT, PAYE and other Revenue requirements
o Liaise effectively with banks, creditors, auditors and other external bodies as necessary
2. Financial Analysis
o Develop standard costings for all major activities
o Analyse labour variances weekly, monthly
o Help management team to understand and reduce negative variances
o Identify the most effective ways to maximize margins while complying with regulatory requirements, satisfying customer demand and enhancing market positioning
o Develop simple models to identify and maximize revenue
3. Working Capital Management
o Prepare weekly Aged Debtors and Creditors report
o Ensure all invoices are issued promptly and cash collection targets achieved
o Prepare detailed processes for all relevant VAT/PAYE requirements and ensure compliance
o Ensure accurate recording of all banking and other internal controls
o Prepare and issue weekly summary of all cash/banking/working capital movements
4. HR/IT/Insurances/Risks
o Help develop the culture of the organization to ensure all employees are treated with respect and the business complies with all statutory requirements
o Ensure all personnel have formal employment contracts, are issued with an Employee Handbook, receive proper induction training and all complaints/grievances are properly handled
o Review all accounting and IT software in terms of fit with business requirements and action appropriately
o Ensure all insurances are in place and claims handled both timely and accurately
o Prepare and update a risk register to monitor and manage the key risks in the business
The person:
* Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years' pqe
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of Irish financial regulations and tax laws
* Ability to take ownership of financial reporting and office management and building a great relationship with the Board
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems
Salary: c. €90k plus 20% bonus, healthcare and pension.
Hybrid working, 2/3 days on site
