About your new company
We are currently working with a well-renowned mechanical contractor that has recently been awarded a multimillion euro residential project in Cork City. The company has a turnover in excess of €30 million and takes pride in developing their staff. They have a busy order book for the next two years and are looking to add an engineer to their team with a view to becoming a Project Manager. The role will involve working closely with the Project Manager in all aspects of running a job.
About Your New Job
As a Junior Project Manager, you will work closely with supervisors, site managers, project managers, and tradespeople to ensure the timely and successful completion of all mechanical works. You will report into the Project Manager on this job. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily works from an engineering point of view, ensuring quality control, and managing the day-to-day operations on-site. Some of your duties will include:
* Develop a daily action plan that includes HSEQ.
* Assist the project team in expediting major equipment deliveries.
* Maintain a site diary.
* Attend/Chair internal meetings with sub-contractors.
* Ensure that all variations are picked up in conjunction with PM and QS.
* Ensure labour allocation sheets are being completed by sub-contractors.
What Skills & Requirements You Need
Candidates will hold a construction or mechanical engineering related degree. You will have experience working in a building services role for an M&E contractor, main contractor, or an M&E consultancy. A good knowledge of building services is required for this role with a particular emphasis on plumbing and HVAC.
What’s on Offer
The salary for this role is €50 - €60K. There is a benefits package that includes a pension, performance-related bonus, etc. The main attraction to this role is a fast track route to becoming a project manager; the company has a track record in taking on engineers with potential and developing them into project managers. They also have two years of work confirmed in Cork City.
