SQL Database Administrator
Unijobs has a requirement for a suitably skilled SQL Database Administrator to support our clients.
Job Details
* Duration: 12 months (initially), with possible extensions thereafter
* Working hours: 35 hours per week
* Hourly rate: €30.17, based on an annualised salary of €55,093
* Annual leave: 30 days, plus paid Bank Holidays
Services Provided by DBA
* Troubleshooting/Support: DBA Support, DBA Alerts, Daily Monitoring of Database Estate, Security, SQL Server Security Best Practice
* Installation and Maintenance: New Builds, Upgrades and Migrations, Database Backup and Recovery
Responsibilities
* Support clients in the management of the SQL database estate
* Contribute to the migration of databases from out of support servers
* Manage database upgrades and consolidation projects
* Maintain and administer database security access
* Perform database Ad-hoc backups and restores
* Troubleshoot and resolve database connectivity issues
* Install database software service packs and cumulative updates as necessary
Deliverables
* Health check Assessments of SQL database estate in the regions
* Identification of SQL Servers/Databases, documentation on configurations, version, dependencies, availability of backups
* Testing of Ability to restore from backups, Analysis of Storage and configuration requirements
* Migration to new locations on National Data Centres: Configuration of new SQL Servers & SQL Server Instances
* Application of latest patches/update, Transfer of Databases, Rollback plans
* Post-Migration tasks: Continuous Monitoring of additional SQL database estate, Updating of relevant documentation, Decommissioning of redundant SQL Servers
Projects for the Coming 12 Months
* Fingerprint Track n Trace Infrastructure Upgrade - Providing database support for upgrades and assessments
* Provide advice and support to Fingerprint Track n Trace Infrastructure Upgrade project stakeholders regarding all aspects of Database support
* Provide Status reports on the all database aspects of the project
* Represent Database Services function on Project meetings
