A Manufacturing Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment to join our North Cork based Client – a leading supplier of process equipment and services to the biopharma manufacturing sector. Role reports into the Director of Operations.
ROLE:
1. Supervises production line flow including but not limited to testing and adjusting staffing and equipment to ensure production starts and stays on schedule.
2. Supervises and manages production activities performed by manufacturing personnel while maintaining a high degree of visibility and access to staff throughout shift.
3. Continuously evaluates manufacturing operations to determine improvements through effective metrics, capital, personnel, and operational standards.
4. Coordinates with Quality Control to maintain quality standards while taking appropriate corrective action measures to resolve deficiencies.
5. Works hand in hand with scheduler to ensure staffing is in line with business needs.
6. Trains, motivates, coaches, rewards and resolves issues within manufacturing area to ensure all employees work as a team.
7. Enforces all safety policies and ensures all manufacturing staff attends required safety training. Investigates accidents in a timely and accurate manner.
8. Resolves production related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company.
9. Responsible for all interviewing, hiring, and training of employees. Not limited to planning, assigning, and directing manufacturing tasks; appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees.
10. Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.
11. Ability to travel when required.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) required but not essential.
2. 3-5 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
3. Ability to read engineering drawings.
4. Experience with capacity planning, from a people and equipment perspective.
5. Able to train and motivate employees to create quality products, increase KPI's and grow the profitability of this plant.
6. Experience with high volume manufacturing operations.
