Programme Assistant
Camphill Community is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Programme Assistant.
About the Role
The Programme Assistant will support the service in developing and fostering a person-centered culture, with an aim to achieve high-quality personal outcomes, personal development, growth, and opportunity within the ethos of CCoI and regulatory requirements.
The role involves assisting in inclusive programmes, training, and social role opportunities for participants by supporting and working with people with support needs, volunteers, employees, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the values and ethos of Camphill Communities of Ireland, upholding and promoting practices and reporting requirements associated with company and statutory requirements on Safeguarding and Protection of vulnerable adults/children.
* Promote the safety and wellbeing of all members of the community while respecting and supporting their right to independent decision-making.
* Contribute to the establishment of policies, systems, and practices ensuring the community provides the best standard of care and support, complying with legislation, policies, and best practice within the context of Camphill's ethos and values.
* Build and maintain relationships of trust and confidence with individuals, co-workers, employees, and volunteers.
* Work in accordance with Camphill Communities of Ireland's policies and procedures, adhering to HIQA Standards, New Directions Standards, and other company standards.
Main Tasks
* Assist in planning work activities for individuals, identifying the best approach, providing guidance, motivating, and directing individuals as they work.
* Create a good working environment and group dynamic enabling each worker to benefit from their time in the programme.
* Maintain constructive engagement, emotional support, and sufficient challenge and progression for individuals working independently.
* Work in conjunction with individual plans and aims for each individual in the programme.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Candidates must have:
* QQI Level 5 Major Award in Community/Healthcare on the QQI Framework (with 8 completed modules)
* At least 1 year's experience in working with adults with intellectual disability/autism
* Experience running programmes for adults with intellectual disability/autism
* Understanding of the New Directions model of day support services, as developed by the HSE. A willingness to work in promoting this model within your role

Details of the Role
Salary Scale: €30,272 to €36,026 Per annum (based on a 40 hour week) Pro rata
Location: The Watergarden, Day Opportunities, Ladywell Street, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny R95 KW11
Contract: Permanent - 35 hours per week
