Purpose
The Warehouse Manager will lead and optimize warehouse operations, ensuring efficient stock control, order fulfillment, and logistical efficiency.
Main Duties
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
Oversee all warehouse activities, ensuring smooth receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. Manage stock control processes, ensuring inventory accuracy and minimizing waste. Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions for efficient picking and packing.
Compliance, Health & Safety, and Quality Standards
Evaluate full compliance with health & safety regulations and food safety standards (BRC, HACCP). Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and staff training to promote a safe working environment. Maintain cleaning and hygiene standards in line with food manufacturing regulations.
Warehouse Team Leadership & Development
Lead, motivate, and develop the warehouse team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement. Oversee recruitment, training, and development of warehouse staff. Implement KPIs and performance monitoring to drive efficiency and accountability.
Logistics & Third-Party Supplier Management
Work closely with the Transport team to ensure efficient dispatch and delivery of goods. Liaise with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and transport companies to manage inbound and outbound logistics. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, transporters, and other stakeholders.
Cost Control & Process Improvement
Manage warehouse budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining efficiency. Implement Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce waste. Identify and integrate automation and technology solutions to improve warehouse productivity.
Essentials
* Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or stock control within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution.
* Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and supply chain management.
* Experience in managing warehouse teams, implementing KPIs, and driving efficiency.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations (BRC, HACCP) and health & safety compliance.
* Ability to use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software for inventory tracking.
Desirable Qualifications
* Qualifications in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
* Health & Safety certification (NEBOSH, IOSH).
* Experience with lean warehousing, automation, and process improvement techniques.
