The Senior VM Executive will manage the design, timing, and cost of seasonal VM updates. This role is key in creating merchandising solutions that showcase products effectively, resonate with customers and drive business growth. Strong communication and organisational skills are needed to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a commercial understanding is crucial for implementing strategies across retailers and flagships. Responsibilities include creating temporary, permanent, seasonal, and event product displays, ensuring they align with brand identity and effectively tell the brand's story.
Accountabilities Include
Execute VM strategies aligning with brand guidelines and seasonal campaigns. Project manage the production, setup, and maintenance of product displays, ensuring visual consistency and product accessibility. Own and communicate critical paths, Identify potential delays, and flag key milestones and deadlines to keep projects on track. Collaborate with Marketing, Trade, Product, and Creative teams. Lead and mentor the Visual Merchandising Executive, providing guidance on best practices. Support the VM Manager with retailer and flagship communications. Complete forms related to stand updates and visual merchandising requirements, such as Boots proformas, joiners and leavers, artwork signoffs for barcodes, planograms, and merchandising schedules. Manage end-to-end Temporary POS and stand updates for NPD. Oversee planograms, including the creation of load-ups and line lists for new units and counter builds. Handle artwork briefs, reviews, and management, working closely with the creative team on asset requirements as needed. Assist the VM Manager with retail design projects, including design briefing and critical path management for new counters. Track the VM budget with the support of the VM Executive. Receive invoices approved by the VM Manager, then raise, track, and communicate POs in line with the VM budget. Monitor and compare budget vs. actual expenditure, reporting any over/under spend to the VM Manager. Coordinate new counter reports and assist the VM Manager with snagging follow-ups with suppliers. Assist the VM Manager with briefing and project management of retailer pop-up sites in line with NPD, key seasonal moments, or store launches. • Manage flagship (Grafton, Kildare, Belfast, and Carnaby) POS and materials. Handle promotional POS for retailers, such as temporary FDUs and hotspots. Support the VM Executive in managing the ordering, upkeep, and logistics of VM elements required for all in-store events and masterclasses, providing ad hoc event and masterclass support as needed. Perform other ad hoc administration and project work as required. Occasionally travel to UK and Ireland-based suppliers, stores, and counter installations. Build relationships with new and existing suppliers. Conduct regular store visits and competitor research. Send weekly priorities and status reports to the VM Manager.
Experience Needed
At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role.Degree desirable but not essential. Strong communicator, able to influence using clear and engaging verbal and written communication. Ability to manage upwards. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational, planning, time management, and anticipatory skills. Flexibility to perform different tasks based on day-to-day business needs. Strong multitasker who can work well under pressure. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of an interdependent team, willing to help and learn from others. Excellent administrative skills with a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). CAD knowledge desirable but not essential.
