RPS are currently involved in a very large Public Lighting upgrade project, based in Cork and throughout Munster.
We are currently recruiting a Resident Electrical Technician to work as a key member of our project team.
Key Requirements
* Experienced Engineer with post-graduate experience, or Senior Electrician with equivalent experience.
* Satisfactory experience monitoring, testing, identifying defects, and checking compliance of an electrical engineering construction project with a capital value of at least €500k (ex VAT)
* Experience in either Utilities or Building Services projects.
* Highly motivated.
Duties and Responsibilities
* The Resident Technician shall report to the Resident Electrical Engineer and will be responsible for monitoring, witness testing, checking compliance with the scope and that all works are carried out in accordance with the works contract.
* The Resident Technician shall be working predominantly on site.
* Manage the H&S system relevant to their work area.
* Participate in work activities which support the Quality Management system.
* Ensure due date delivery of service.
* Check project documentation, drawings and calculations, as required.
* Carry out site surveys and attend site meetings.
* Participate fully within the project team.
* Follow defined goals and training plans.
* Maintain CPD.
* Comply with RPS systems.
* Meet appraisal goals.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Good site experience, including construction support, surveys, meetings and generating snag lists.
* IT Proficiency using standard office software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Basic understanding of specific building services design tools, such as AutoCAD, Lighting Reality and similar.
* Capable of adhering to engineering quality systems.
* Working as a part of a team.
