AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) manages the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Amazon Energy Procurement Operations (EPO) team is seeking an Energy Operations Manager. EPO manages energy supply contracts post-execution, provides controllership for financial and operational performance, and ensures compliance with external regulations and internal policies. You will manage the portfolio of the world’s largest corporate buyer of renewables.
We are looking for an individual with a track record of managing programs, including planning, launching, and executing initiatives that drive excellence. This role will support the management of contracts in an assigned region and collaborate with stakeholders to report, analyze, and improve the performance of our energy portfolio. The right candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously, has an analytical skill set, and experience managing contracts.
Key job responsibilities
1. Own the assigned portfolio of energy agreements and renewable power purchase agreements.
2. Help shape and implement the EPO programs (including contract management, financial performance, and energy compliance) to meet the organization’s goals.
3. Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations.
4. Act as a subject matter expert on executed renewable energy agreements and manage contractual obligations with counterparties.
5. Report and analyze performance in the assigned portfolio, identifying impacts to our business units and customers.
6. Support the management of the onboarding process for new contracts with counterparties.
7. Support environmental attributes tracking and retirement across the portfolio.
8. Work collaboratively with other AWS and Amazon teams to support the management of energy programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required.
2. 5-7 years of experience in managing cross-functional projects, initiatives, and teams.
3. 5-7 years of experience in the utility/energy industry in Europe and the Middle East.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master's degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
2. Experience in managing transactions, supplier/contract management, and commercial relationships.
3. Experience with large datasets, reporting, and leveraging technology to drive process improvements.
4. Ability to manage multiple projects, plan/track timelines, develop automated tools, and interface with senior leadership and stakeholders.
