Social Care Leader
This is an exciting opportunity for Social Care Leaders to join a new service in Donegal that will deliver a trauma-informed model of care for young people aged between 13 and 17 years old.
The team will focus on building positive relationships with the young people, aiming to create a therapeutic environment that encourages their development and well-being.
You will work as part of a team of Social Care professionals to provide holistic, trauma-informed care to the young people.
The Social Care Leader will be responsible for various aspects of the service, including working with children, administration, health and safety, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement Care and Placement Plans, ensuring accurate recording.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of each child/young person within the centre.
* Foster the physical, emotional, social, and religious welfare of each young person in care.
* Encourage attendance at school, training centres, medical, and clinical appointments.
* Manage personal documents, arrangements, information, and finance on behalf of the young person.
* Liaise with parents, families, services, and agencies on behalf of the young person.
* Attend meetings related to the care and developments of the young person.
* Engage in age-appropriate play and activities with each child/young person.
* Use physical intervention or restraint in accordance with local policies and procedures.
* Prepare meals and manage household tasks, including budgeting, upkeep, and cleaning.
* Attend team meetings and report to the Social Care Manager on matters affecting service delivery.
* Be accountable for expenses and make reports on the young person's progress.
* Undertake ongoing professional training and development.
* Make decisions when on shift and in the absence of senior staff, accepting responsibility for the centre.
Requirements:
* At least three years' experience in a Children & Families Service or similar environment with a challenging client group.
* Registration in the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU, or equivalent qualifications and registration status.
