Job Title:
Sr. QA Engineer/ QA Lead (Manual Testing, Usability Testing & Test Automation)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and versatile QA Lead to oversee the quality assurance process for our web applications. This role combines leadership, manual testing expertise, UX validation and test automation using Robot Framework.
You will be working in a distributed multidisciplinary team with members in Ireland (frontend development, DevOps, UX design and QA), The Netherlands (development, UX design) and the United States (product master, development). You will be located in Ireland and reporting to your manager in The Netherlands. You must have the relevant visa to live and work in Ireland. As a QA Lead you will ensure with the other members of the dev and QA team, that our products meet the highest standards of functionality, usability, and efficiency. You will also work with members of the QA guild that work on other products in our organization to align QA standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage QA efforts, including manual testing, usability testing, and test automation, to ensure thorough and efficient quality coverage.
· Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Robot Framework to streamline regression and functional testing.
· Execute comprehensive manual testing, including functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing, ensuring adherence to UX principles and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
· Develop and enforce QA best practices, processes, and standards to deliver high-quality software.
· Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to define quality objectives and align testing strategies with project goals.
· Create, review, and manage detailed test plans, test cases, and schedules to ensure timely delivery of quality assurance outcomes.
· Identify, document, and prioritize defects, providing clear and actionable information to development teams for resolution.
· Perform root cause analysis for critical defects and implement strategies to prevent recurrence.
· Mentor and guide QA guild members, fostering professional growth and a culture of continuous improvement.
· Stay current with advancements in QA tools, test automation practices, and UX trends to enhance the team's effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Required:
· 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including manual testing and automation, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
· Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, particularly Robot Framework.
· Strong understanding of UX principles, usability testing methods, and accessibility standards.
· Proven ability to design, execute, and manage manual and automated test plans and test cases.
· Proficiency with test management tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
· Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in such environments.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills in the English language.
· Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to inspire and guide the QA team.
Preferred:
· Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to aid in defect analysis and test development.
· Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
· Exposure to browser developer tools for debugging UI-related issues.
· Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and UX design tools like Figma.
· Experience in performance testing and load testing is a plus.
