Our client, a retail nursery in North Kildare, is seeking to hire a Manager for the centre. This person will be the overall manager and will be responsible for all aspects of running the operation, under the direction of senior management. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious retail horticulturist or assistant manager to progress to management.
What is required of you:
1. You will maintain company standards in all areas of the work.
2. Customer care: Maintain strong relationships with existing customers, deal with any issues or complaints in a professional and timely manner, and uphold the company’s high standards.
3. Project Management: Ensure that your projects are managed in a timely and professional manner, developing and maintaining procedures and targets for your contracts.
4. Paperwork and administration: Maintain and implement the company's procedures.
5. Financial duties, including responsibility for maintaining our minimum gross margin on orders and ensuring accurate and timely payment for all of your suppliers as per financial control procedures.
6. Provide exceptional levels of customer care and operate at the very top end of international plant supply. Assist other team members as required to ensure the smooth running of the company.
Skills and Attributes required:
1. Develop and maintain relationships with customers at senior levels to ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
2. Maintain and update reporting templates to ensure that all work is completed in a timely manner. Maintain accurate information on points and time of contact.
3. You will have suitable qualifications (ideally in Horticulture) and possibly a desire to further your qualifications.
4. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, and Excel. Nursery management software knowledge would be good but not essential.
5. 5 years plus experience in Horticulture Nursery and/or Retail or related fields.
6. Honest and straightforward communication is essential with our customers and team. A pleasant and positive manner with team members and customers.
7. Positive Problem Owner: Ability to work well in teams, self-starter, pleasant/helpful/optimistic.
8. Ability to go the extra mile to achieve exceptional results.
