Deputy Head of Underwriting
A unique opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Deputy Head of Underwriting to join our company and support its ambitious growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the Casualty & SME portfolio, holding profit and loss responsibility.
* Develop and implement the Casualty business strategy, driving profitable growth.
* Support the delivery of the SME business strategy in conjunction with the Head of SME.
* Collaborate with the Business Lines Transformation Project Team and Head of SME on designing and implementing our new technology platform.
* Develop products, propositions, and technical skills to support them.
* Work closely with Sales & Distribution, Market Facing Underwriters, and Claims and Actuarial to achieve business plans.
* Demonstrate specialised knowledge and expertise in products and industry, leading projects to develop technical standards, controls, and practices.
* Drive initiatives and action plans.
* Maintain active engagement with customers, business partners, and influence trade and industry groups, showcasing a strong external leadership profile.

Requirements:
* At least 10 years of senior management experience working across a Casualty or SME portfolio is ideal.
* Advanced technical knowledge and skills reflective of a seasoned practitioner who has progressed within underwriting positions of increasing responsibility.
* A high level of UW authority and involvement in trade and industry bodies for area of specialism.
* Excellent knowledge of UW concepts and principles and UW metrics.
* Ability to use tools and techniques for portfolio management.
* Strong analytical skills and decision-making ability.
* Capacity to work to strict deadlines and ambitious targets.

About the Role
This permanent position offers a dynamic culture and expert training opportunities, focusing on the insurance sector in a hybrid workplace setting.
Suitable candidates will have a senior management background and be willing to relocate to Dublin City Centre, where they will be rewarded with a competitive salary range of €100,000 - €110,000 per annum.
