The Client is a global financial institution with a 35-year history. Founded in 1987, we have grown from an options trading firm on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange to become one of the world's largest privately held financial institutions.
We trade almost every major financial product and are recognised for our disciplined and quantitative trading approach, as well as our leading-edge trading systems. Our European headquarters is located in Dublin, where we employ over 600 people across Trading, Technology, Research, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR.
We offer a wide range of products across all the major European Exchanges from our trading hub in Dublin. These include Equity Options and Futures, Equities, ETFs, Fixed Income, Convertible Bonds, and Commodities.
You will be part of a compliance monitoring team responsible for monitoring and reporting on compliance and other risks. Based on the trading floor, this role involves working closely with traders and operations teams.
In this role, you will:
* Carry out monitoring in accordance with the risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme
* Conduct second-line real-time monitoring of the firm's algorithmic trading activity
* Analyse compliance exception reports
* Assist in ensuring that the firm complies with trading venue rules and relevant regulations, such as MiFID II, EMIR, and MAR
* Verify that new counterparties are processed in accordance with account opening and anti-money laundering procedures
* Check that procedures are followed in relation to controls around automated trading systems used by The Client
* Ensure that procedures are followed in relation to trading and counterparty limits
* Assist in completing thematic reviews of different business areas.
What We're Looking For:
* Degree in business, preferably a finance or law-related discipline
* Compliance experience in the financial sector would be advantageous
* Compliance-related qualification would be advantageous
* Interest in financial markets and knowledge of financial instruments
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
* Knowledge of Visual Basic / SQL would be advantageous
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to work well in a team
* Strong communicator (verbal and written) - ability to convey subject matter in a clear and concise manner
* Attention to detail - thorough in work carried out
* Effective problem-solving skills - identifies problems and proposes solutions
