Design Manager
The Design Manager will support the team in enhancing our Design activities. The Design Manager will be responsible for leading, managing, coaching, mentoring, training, and supporting a team of Design Engineers/CAD Technicians to maximise their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implementing training and coaching programmes to fulfil operational requirements in line with Company strategy, policies, procedures, and processes.
* Managing the recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retention, employee engagement, and learning development of the Design team.
* Leading and managing design teams, including managing drawing standards and specifications.
* Coordinating LPCB standards and inspection and accreditation process.
* Developing and updating Design SOP's, Manuals, Procedures for your Department in line with legislative, regulatory, Company and Client requirements.
* Scheduling and planning for upcoming works and providing updates to relevant Departments.
* Ensuring all designs are tracked, monitored, planned, and progress updated in relevant project management schedules and systems.
* Developing and implementing standard design tools to build efficiencies in project execution.
* Supporting Design Engineers to ensure they pass internal and external audits and inspections.
* Covering duties such as HR-related tasks, including job descriptions/key competencies, training needs analysis, and workforce planning.
Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years Fire Sprinkler Design Experience
* Experience using Revit
* Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) workflows
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to prioritise work and manage challenging workload
* Flexible, adaptable, and can-do attitude to work
* Proven record of building and sustaining effective and professional working relationships; being a trusted advisor to colleagues
* Excellent time management, attention to detail, and reliability skills
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related discipline
* Proven experience in leading and managing design teams
* Strong knowledge of design software such as Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools
* Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards
