Celestica Galway (Ireland) offers a thrilling opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer (High Volume Production and Automation) to pioneer an innovative fully automated high volume manufacturing line. In this dynamic role, you will lead the charge in delivering cutting-edge projects, optimizing processes, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to enhance production efficiency and quality. With a focus on impact-driven solutions and a collaborative work culture, this role promises a stimulating journey in engineering excellence.
Your day-to-day activities will include…
* Responsible for understanding and implementing the customer’s technical roadmap and related process development projects.
* Implement the qualification process to support customers products.
* Ongoing development of tooling for a comprehensive set of complex machines and mechanical process steps within a manufacturing sector.
* Assessment of the capabilities of machines and process applications using Design of Experiments.
* Lead disciplined process for solving complex single stage or multistage product, process, component, and related problems that affect the efficient operation and/or manufacture of products through the full manufacturing process.
* Production technical support when required and coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
* Understanding and providing feedback on customer’s technical requirements to team members and management.
* Developing, planning and leading the assessment of the capability of process applications using the design of experiments (DOE).
* Evaluating complex data to assist with reporting yield, reliability and diagnoses to root causes failures impacting product quality.
Enabling Competencies
* Project Management - Ability to manage/lead complex, multiple line engineering projects that may also involve other functions. Demonstrate solid understanding of the technical, financial and people aspects of the project. Able to create a project/change management plan and ensure that the project is delivered within the assigned time and budget. Ability to recognize project barriers and develop mitigation plans.
* Leadership - Demonstrate "People & Team Leadership Behaviors" as per Celestica Leadership Imperatives.

What are we looking for?
* Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Automation with a 3+ years’ relevant experience.
* Process Automation experience.
* Understanding of technical mechanical drawings.
* Mechanical hands-on experience in mechanical troubleshooting, diagnosing and guiding technicians to repair a complex machine in a high volume environment.
* Someone with an ability to initiate and lead change, collaborate and create alignment, drive accountability, think critically and make sound decisions.
* Someone that has previous experience with customer Management and a knowledge of customer and regulatory requirements.
* Someone that has previous experience of coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
