Job Title: Tenant Community Liaison Officer
Department: Housing
Responsible to: Manager of Housing and Community
Job Purpose: This is an exciting role within Fold Housing, the post holder will be responsible for the implementation of our Tenant Engagement strategy and all its associated actions to help further improve our tenant and community activities.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* The Tenant community liaison officer will be the first point of contact in driving our engagement strategy alongside our Tenant Forum and Housing Officers.
* The focus of the role is on promoting wellbeing and engagement with tenants and building individual communities within our scheme while integration into the wider community.
* The post holder will be involved in developing activities/programs with both tenants and Colleagues input. Flexibility will be required to attend meetings and functions outside 9-5 working hours and travel within all our schemes will be required.
Tenant Engagement
* To contribute to and lead on the delivery of tenant engagement strategy.
* To develop new and innovative ways of engaging with tenants and enabling the opportunity for feedback.
* To work collaboratively with Fold Housing staff, partners, and stakeholders to build community-based relationships and to develop and improve the services provided to tenants.
* To develop ways to ensure tenant engagement is outcome-focused, working with tenants to design events, evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of the engagement initiatives.
* To raise awareness of and communicate statutory standards and legislation relating to tenant engagement with tenants and the organisation.
* Coordinate an annual programme of tenant meetings with the housing team.
* To promote tenant engagement and involvement in partnership with other Fold Housing staff so that tenant needs and aspirations are fed into the Association's service standards and improvements.
* Provide detailed reports on tenant engagement to Managers, Committees and other bodies as appropriate.
* To prepare and monitor the tenant engagement budget and to apply for any grant or funding available for the specific areas of work.
Communication and Marketing
* Liaise with the Management and agree information suitable for social media.
* Utilise established communication channels and methods such as social media and website to reach and engage our tenants.
* Take the lead on producing our tenant newsletter.
* Facilitate consultation with tenants ensuring a range of engagement options are used to maximise tenant participation.
* To coordinate the tenants’ forum.
General
* To attend regular meetings within the Housing department.
* Undertake training as and when required.
* To drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery, working with other departments and being aware of best practice throughout the housing and other sectors.
* To contribute to developing strategy plans, team and individual targets.
* To provide high quality customer-centred service at all times.
* To provide one-to-one support to tenants who are being discharged from hospital and/or needing additional health supports by liaising with relevant stakeholders.
* Carry out all duties observing Fold Housing’s policies and procedures on health and safety.

Criteria
Skills and Abilities
* 3rd level qualification in a relevant field such as Community Development or Housing Studies – Essential
* Computer literate with the ability to confidently use various computer applications – Essential
* Knowledge of statutory bodies and available funding sources – Essential
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences – Essential
* Ability to self-motivate and work independently or as part of a team – Essential
* Good influencing skills and the ability to achieve results – Essential
* Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activities – Essential
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines – Essential
Experience
* A minimum of two years’ experience working in Community Development/Social Housing – Essential
* Experience working in a customer-oriented field – Essential
* Experience in Housing Management tasks such as allocations, rents, etc. – Desirable
* Knowledge of social housing in Ireland – Essential
