Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Role
Wexford, Ireland is home to a leading healthcare provider seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for several nursing homes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure adherence to clinical standards and policies at all times.
* Conduct ward rounds, including GP visits, to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
* Review and oversee nursing documentation to guarantee accurate, timely, and comprehensive care plans.
* Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs), staff nurses, and care assistants.
* Foster teamwork and a cohesive work environment by maintaining a visible presence in clinical areas and delivering constructive feedback on care practices.
* Conduct performance appraisals and develop education objectives for CNMs, staff nurses, and care assistants.
* Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) for CNM appraisals and strategic direction.
* Perform clinical audits to ensure timely assessments, care planning, and reviews.
* Monitor cleanliness, hygiene, and effective communication across all teams.
Requirements:
* Minimum 7 years of post-registration experience with at least 3 years as a Clinical Nurse Manager or higher.
* Experience in a rehabilitation facility or equivalent setting.
* Post-registration management qualifications in health or a related field.
* Active registration on the Irish NMBI live register.
* Proven track record in Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with prior management experience.
