The Commercial Specialist role involves supporting the development, as well as leading and implementing the ESB Networks Generation or Large Customer Connection Processes relating to customers installing generation. The role includes the development and implementation of generator connection and charging policy for such users of the Distribution System and remaining informed on generation regulations as they apply to ESB Networks. The role will also involve the management, tracking and processing of generator connection offers for customers in these categories. Ongoing management and resolution of customer/stakeholder issues, supporting the development of IT systems, and development of the long-term enduring processes.
Applicants to this recruitment process will be considered for a number of Commercial Specialist (Band 5) vacancies across the ESB Networks Regulation & Commercial team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide specialist input to support the development of the new Generation or Large Customer Connection processes for ESB Networks’ customers installing generation to ensure customers are facilitated and the business objectives in relation to connection of renewables are delivered.
2. Support the delivery and embedding of the relevant enduring business processes to ensure generator applications are effectively managed by ESB Networks and our required deliverables under Ireland's Climate Action Plan.
3. Work with and support the team dealing with processing and completion of generator connections under these key processes.
4. Represent the team on cross business team projects and working groups where required i.e. SAP developed, Online application development, charging policy development.
5. Interact with and manage key external industry representative bodies including WEI, ISEA, SEAI as required.
6. Proactively deal with all relevant generator queries within and outside own business area.
7. Work with the team to ensure the relevant pages on the ESB Networks website to ensure the information is accurate and consistent.
8. Support any regulated changes to connection agreements driven by the business, this includes liaising with both legal and CRU.
9. Implement generator connection policy and regulations as they apply to ESB Networks.
10. Develop and build relationships with Divisions, Areas and Planner Groups to achieve a best practice end to end Generator or Large Customer Connection process.
11. Develop reports for senior management on both the status of projects connecting to the distribution system and on the generator connection offer process.
Experience and Qualifications
1. 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience
2. 5 plus years relevant work experience in a commercial or technical role
3. Strong knowledge and ability to work with key IT systems such as MS Sharepoint, Excel and PowerPoint
4. Strong stakeholder management skills when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
5. Knowledge and ability to influence decision making in relation to connection offer, charging policies and processes.
6. Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
7. Ability to work independently and solve complex policy issues, while developing new lean business processes
8. Proven ability to manage project work and work effectively within a team
9. Commercial focus including a detailed understanding of the customer generator connection process from application to operation
10. Experience dealing with grid connection offers and modifications to connection agreements
11. Experience dealing directly with customers and stakeholders
12. Experience providing guidance and specialist support to teams across a large business
13. Experience using relevant commercial system tools such as DocuSign
Location
This position will be based in Leopardstown Road, Dublin 18.
