Senior Maintenance Technician:
To manage the maintenance and repair of equipment on site. Liaise with external contractors for the maintenance and repair of same. The Lead Maintenance Technician is also responsible for supervising the 24/5 & 24/7 shifts, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the maintenance of all process equipment on site, while also supporting Facilities & Utilities as needed.
2. Primarily a day-shift role, with accountability for supervising 24/7 and 24/5 shift teams.
3. Lead the technical aspects of commissioning and validation for both ongoing and new projects.
4. Facilitate the training and skill development of Shift Technicians, including training for maintenance on new and existing equipment.
5. Organize and archive all Facilities and Maintenance documentation effectively.
6. Ensure timely communication and escalation of updates within the Maintenance Department and with other departments, prioritizing based on critical site requirements.
7. Ensure accurate time tracking for all planned work assignments.
8. Collaborate with the engineering team to manage maintenance contracts, service level agreements, and on-site contractors.
9. Lead high-standard completion of CMMS activities, working with Maintenance and Quality Engineers to keep the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program current.
10. Coordinate with Engineering to maintain availability of critical mechanical, electrical, and automation spares, aiming for maximum equipment uptime.
11. Minimize equipment downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance efforts. Respond swiftly to equipment failures as a member of the critical response team.
12. Plan equipment downtime in collaboration with production teams and external vendors, and provide technical input during weekly planning meetings for preventative maintenance.
13. Demonstrate expertise in interpreting P&ID, Electrical & Pneumatic Drawings, and process flow charts, providing support in troubleshooting equipment and site-related issues.
14. Maintain detailed documentation aligned with Good Engineering Practices (GEP) for all site equipment.
15. Research and evaluate new maintenance/manufacturing processes and systems with approved vendors and implement improvements under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager.
16. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, cGMP, and company policies including Environmental, Health and Safety standards, and corporate guidelines.
17. Actively identify and implement energy-saving initiatives on-site.
18. Drive the development and implementation of the site’s 6S program and conduct associated internal audits.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified trade professional with extensive maintenance expertise.
2. Hands-on maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
3. Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
4. Previous supervisory experience in a maintenance environment.
