We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team on a 2 Year fixed term contract basis.
The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for carrying out maintenance on machines, optimising functionality and ensuring machines are in safe working order.
The successful candidate will work efficiently, as per maintenance schedule, completing records for each machine.
This role is a weekend shift pattern but will be subject to change due to business needs.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following: Maintenance, repair and installation of miscellaneous machines and services throughout the factory, in compliance with regulatory and company requirementsWorking in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules, job cards and proceduresMaintenance of records, either manually or using a PC based recording systemRecording of service / preventative maintenance records, and signing off of job cards for completed tasksUpdating shift handover logbook as required at the end of the shiftUpdating of spare parts log / store inventories and recording of parts usedProviding feedback on weak points on machinery, and further machine maintenance requirementsLearning how machines function, and development of skills, knowledge and competencies regarding machine maintenance tasksWorking on own initiative and liaising with operators, chargehands, supervisors and others as required to successfully complete maintenance tasksChecking machine manuals, drawings, preventative maintenance schedules etc.
when required to successfully complete tasksRemoving machines from service, which, if put back into operation may pose a health and safety risk to operators or othersTraining, both on and off the job, on current and future machines / services within the company, this may necessitate travel abroad for trainingQualifications Requirements and ExperienceQualified Fitter or other relevant related qualificationMinimum of 3 years' previous experience in a maintenance departmentThe ability to work at heights and in confined spaces is essentialBasic PC skills are requiredExperience in the use and/or maintenance /repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment would be an advantageExperience with heavy steel construction environment would be an advantageMust be available to work 06:30am - 18:30pm Friday, Saturday & SundayWe offer a competitive salary, pension scheme, training and development opportunities, subsidised canteen, retailer discounts, sports and social club, cycle to work scheme and if that isn't enough, we have an early finish on a Friday!
