Mooncoin Residential Care Centre has an exciting opportunity for a caring, energetic, compassionate, kind, creative, and reliable Activities Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will enjoy working with older people and be highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
The Activities Manager will plan and oversee activities in the Nursing Home and manage the activities team. The duties will focus on creating activities that enrich residents’ lives and include planning, organizing, and implementing a regular schedule of activities to allow residents to enjoy creative expression, socialization, and exercise.
The Activities Manager will work within our multidisciplinary care team to nurture a caring, homely environment for residents, enabling them to fulfill their social, cultural, and recreational needs while maximizing their independence in accordance with their wishes, ensuring each resident’s privacy and dignity is respected at all times.
Person Specification
1. FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or related field/Care Assistant Background
2. Experience in design and delivery of activities for older people.
3. Previous experience of doing activities in a residential care centre.
4. Care of the Older Person, Dementia Care, and Palliative Care Support Modules are desirable or willing to complete.
5. Sonas training desirable or willing to complete.
6. Be passionate about delivering outstanding services to older people, including those with physical, cognitive, and age-related conditions.
7. Be a committed, patient, and caring person with a sense of humour and a positive outlook on life.
8. Excellent organizational skills.
9. An ability to coordinate multiple activities.
10. Be flexible and self-motivated.
11. Be capable of working on own initiative and as part of a team.
12. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
