Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technician Role in a Data Center
A high-energy, detail-oriented individual is sought to join Amazon's Data Center Engineering Operations Team.
This team maintains the critical physical infrastructure supporting Amazon Web Services. The successful candidate will work to ensure MEP operations at 100% availability and deliver exceptional customer service within data centers.
Key Responsibilities
The Data Center Engineering Operations Facility Engineer operates and maintains all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment. This includes hands-on troubleshooting and operation of mission-critical servers supported by stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD's, and building automation systems.
* Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Analyze equipment failures to determine root causes.
* Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
* Ensure adherence to safety procedures during work.
* Work rotating shifts (various days) during weeks.
* Take daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment.
* Utilize CMMS for building workflow management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in electrical or mechanical fields.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing critical facilities with deep knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Familiarity with generic mechanical room infrastructure, including chillers, cooler units, and fan controls.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC systems, and controls.
- Electrical or mechanical journeyman license.
