Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems critical to the production process. Key responsibilities include:
* Perform routine maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, and utilities
* Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose mechanical problems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of equipment
* Execute preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to uphold equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory requirements
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications
* Document maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance reports, to maintain accurate records and track equipment performance
* Participate in safety programs and adhere to established safety protocols to promote a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues
* Provide technical support and guidance to junior maintenance staff as needed
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Time served in an engineering technical degree or diploma, or Solas advanced craft certification to level 6, or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a mechanical maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry
* Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems, as well as their operation and maintenance requirements
* Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing repairs using hand and power tools
* Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices and techniques to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with regulatory standards
* Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to facilitate equipment maintenance and repairs
* Computer Literacy
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization
* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation
