Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Senior Trust & Safety Technical Specialist to join our Trust & Safety Content team. Our environment is fast-paced and requires someone who is flexible, biased for action, detail-oriented, holds high personal standards, and is comfortable tracking multiple threads across many teams. This is an inherently cross-functional role that requires close collaboration with multiple teams across the organization to develop scalable and sustainable solutions.
As a Senior Trust & Safety Technical Specialist, you'll engage with customers and complex Content abuse types (Including CSAM), providing SME (Subject Matter Expert) advice, escalation support and deep dive analysis. You will use your expertise to identify continuous improvement opportunities, program manage Enterprise offerings, and leverage the Voice of the Customer to drive global strategic solutions. You will tackle the most impactful issues to drive scalable and long-term solutions that protect and mitigate abuse. You will facilitate cross functional stakeholder meetings with Policy, Tooling, AWS Enterprise teams including Technical Account managers (TAM’s), and Solution Architects. As one of the most technically proficient members of the team, you will also act in a mentor capacity whenever possible helping to ensure the continued growth and success of the AWS Trust and Safety team.
Key job responsibilities
1. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve abuse incidents across multiple services for AWS.
2. Investigate escalated content abuse issues (which includes CSAM), and deep dive to identify the root cause of the problem.
3. You will occasionally work under high pressure in arising situations to identify a problem, develop a solution, and provide expertise on behalf of T&S for internal and external stakeholders.
4. Help to influence leadership decisions regarding company policy, emerging trends and detection and response policies across customer segments for abuse issues.
5. Use best judgement and incorporate available data to look around corners and identify areas for opportunity w/r/t potential abuse issues.
6. Drive high-impact and highly cross-functional initiatives while simultaneously tracking a set of smaller projects.
7. Drive project facilitation and goal setting for T&S improvement programs.
8. Evolve the team and mentor T&S to effectively mitigate large scale abuse events.
9. Lead incident/problem reviews and ad hoc analyses to identify gaps and influence system and process improvements.

About the team
AWS Trust & Safety (T&S) is a global team that helps protect against abusive use of AWS services while simultaneously working to build trust with AWS’s customers, partners, and other stakeholders. T&S engages with a variety of stakeholders to understand cloud infrastructure related trust and safety issues, develop fit-for-purpose frameworks to assess and minimize risks for AWS’s customers, and develop guidelines and processes for responding to trust and safety issues. Our team members display a solid understanding of AWS’s cloud infrastructure, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to exercise sound judgment on complex and time-sensitive matters.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. 4+ years experience in a Trust and Safety or similar environment working with issues related to online abuse.
2. 2+ years handling and investigating complex content abuse types such as CSAM and understanding of NCMEC escalation processes.
3. Good technical knowledge and understanding of Internet security concepts and vulnerabilities.
4. Advanced experience with MS Excel, including functions and formulas.
5. SQL and/or other relational database experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Program management experience with ability to successfully balance multiple projects.
2. A drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problems.
3. Strong application of data analytical techniques to draw insights from datasets.
4. Working knowledge of cloud-based compute and storage concepts.
5. Lean Six Sigma/AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or other project management certification.
