Our client is recruiting for a qualified payroll accountant to join their organisation based in Cork. This role offers a hybrid working structure and is a 12 month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process end-to-end payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Maintain and reconcile payroll-related accounts, including journal entries and general ledger postings.
3. Ensure compliance with local tax laws, labor regulations, and company policies.
4. Prepare payroll reports and financial statements related to payroll expenses.
5. Handle payroll queries from employees and provide necessary support.
6. Collaborate with HR on employee benefits, deductions, and compensation changes.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIPP).
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
4. Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
5. Proficiency in payroll software, SAP, and Microsoft Excel.
