Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is a key member of the Senior Nurse Management Team, responsible for leading and managing nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and nursing students across all shifts.
This role involves participating in activities to meet the objectives of the Nursing Department and ensuring the delivery of high-quality person-centred care and services. The ADON will also be responsible for developing staff, the nursing department, and the organisation as a whole.
Additionally, this role encompasses operational management of the hospital under the remit of nursing and HCA staff, including out-of-hours periods. The ADON will collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop patient services, review systems, and implement recommendations for service improvements.
In this capacity, the ADON will serve as a resource and work closely with various specialist and professional teams within the hospital to achieve shared goals.
