ChandlerKBS Ireland Ltd are seeking to recruit an Intermediate Cost Manager who will work as part of a team assuming responsibility for the management of commercial matters relating to scheme delivery of major infrastructure projects across Ireland.
The Intermediate Cost Manager will be responsible for providing support to the Senior Cost Management Team in carrying out commercial cost management activities for major infrastructure schemes across Ireland. You will have responsibility for a range of cost management functions.
This role will be based across our Dublin Office, with a flexible hybrid working approach.
The role of an Intermediate Cost Manager includes the following responsibilities:
* Provide support for day-to-day delivery on projects/programmes of work and demonstrate the ability to take on tasks under supervision.
* Managing contractor, consultants and other advisors throughout large and complex construction projects, in a regulated environment (including NEC contracts).
* Contract administration including preparation of valuations, forecasts, cost reports and attendance at project meetings.
* Dealing with bespoke NEC terms of conditions, contract notices and general cost management administration.
* Managing contracts to ensure compliance both by the client and all associated contractors.
* Preparing estimates and cost planning for high value public sector business case approval.
* Preparing technical cost advice for services for governance gateway funding approvals and for regular financial reporting to the client organisation.
* Generating cost information to support option appraisals and assess design development.
* Preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of rates, or other methods of work evaluation.
* Providing cost advice for inclusion in a priced risk and opportunity register.
* Generate and update cashflows from a cost loaded programme for client budgets.
* Support evaluation of tenders, contractor selection and contract documentation.
* Identify and act upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates and services to improve the service provided to clients.
* Develop our business; networking and developing client relationships.
* Work to deadlines set by the Project Team Leader.
* Undertake service delivery in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Practice, particularly Health and Safety and Quality Assurance.

Qualifications & Skills:
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial management and a proven track record of conducting commercial management activities in high value road and/or infrastructure projects.
* Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, cost management or related subject.
* Fully proficient in the use of MS Office applications and other project tools and methodologies.
* Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent stakeholder negotiation and management skills.
* Strong team leadership skills with an ability to influence to drive effective design decision making.
* Cope with demanding and changing timeframes.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
