General Operator - Casein
Reporting to: Production Manager/Shift Manager
Location: Nenagh, Co. Tipperary
Business Sector: Ingredients - Casein Department
Overview:
To train and become proficient in all aspects of running a Casein Plant and associated processes.
Responsibilities:
Responsibility for producing Casein/Caseinate and concentrated Whey/WPC/Permeate for further processing.
Test Casein & Caseinate for moisture, PH and sediment on an hourly basis and cross-reference with laboratory results. Record results on production records.
Monitor whey fines and silo temperature, levels and dates to ensure that whey is processed at optimum levels.
Monitor ultra-osmosis/Nano-Filtration (UO/NF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and ultra-filtration (UF) for flow, pressure, solids & protein, temperature, production length, and final PH adjustment on silos.
Follow all Arrabawn GMPs / SOPs and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitary requirements
Cleaning in Place (CIP) at appropriate intervals and maintain good hygiene standards in the plant.
Maintain all records for traceability and hygiene. Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and shared areas.
Maintain a safe environment, reporting any accidental discharges and health & safety incidents immediately.
Ensure strict adherence to zoning procedures.
Perform all other duties deemed appropriate, necessary, required, or directed by plant management
The successful candidate will be required to work a combination of days, two cycle, three- and four-cycle rotating shifts.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate for long intervals monitoring the process via panel room monitors and plant observations.
Mechanical/analytical abilities leading to an understanding of the casein/whey manufacturing process.
Ability to think logically and solve problems to undertake root cause analysis for issues arising from production process and understand implications
High motivation who works well without supervision. Ability to multi-task
Hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP), Food handling and Chemical Awareness knowledge
Team-worker with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to collaborate and compromise where necessary and promptly share relevant information with others.
Fluency in English written and oral. General PC literacy
Self-starter: is open to changing situations and is flexible and willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned
Maintains a positive and professional attitude and work ethic.
