In this role at our Dungarvan facility, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects within the manufacturing site. You will be part of a Capital Projects team reporting to the Site Capex Manager. This role involves planning, coordination, and executing projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring product quality. Central to success in the role is fruitful collaboration with multiple functions leading to projects that are completed on time, within budget, and to the required specifications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Management
1. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
2. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
3. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
2. Process Improvement
1. Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement.
2. Implement Lean manufacturing principles and other process optimization techniques.
3. Develop and test new manufacturing methods and equipment to enhance efficiency and quality.
3. Collaboration and Communication
1. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
2. Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders and management.
4. Quality Assurance
1. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for quality issues.
2. Conduct risk assessments and implement quality control measures.
3. Ensure that manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and regulations.
5. Vendor Management
1. Source and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovation to enhance efficiency and safety.
6. Technical Engineering
1. Good understanding of process engineering and ability to generate mass balances, complete engineering calculations as required to verify process design.
2. Broad understanding of mechanical, chemical, and automation engineering and ability to understand interactions and interfaces.
7. Budget and Cost Management
1. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
2. Identify cost savings opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
3. Monitor and control project expenditures.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
* 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects in a manufacturing environment.
* Track record in delivering projects (capital).
* Strong project management and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, six sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
* Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and technologies.
* Ability to successfully guide and influence key project stakeholders.
* Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
