Role Description
Cement production is responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions, more than aviation, shipping, and long-haul trucking combined. Ecocem is shaping the future of low carbon cement with ambitions to deliver a 50% cut in CO2 emissions from cement by 2030. As part of our focus on continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Logistics Specialist who will contribute to developing the strategy for future growth at a global level. You will be working in a high-performing, entrepreneurial, talent-focused and innovation driven business. The role is to support the logistic function of the group – including truck and shipping movements across several jurisdictions (Ireland, UK, Europe). The role includes aspects of transport planning, supply chain administration, stock control, master data management and multi-modal logistics.
Requirements
Role Responsibilities
1. Support the Logistics Team in relation to the management of the logistics operations across the Group to ensure the smooth operation of our supply chain.
2. Assist in the coordination of the overall transport operation to ensure optimum utilisation of resources, equipment and technology.
3. Receive orders and organise the loading and transportation of these orders to customers in a timely and cost-effective manner.
4. Assistance in the stock control of the plants as well as in the procurement of consumables.
5. Foster and develop good relations with both existing and potential customers and 3rd party logistics providers to ensure retention and growth of business.
6. Liaise with overseas partners to ensure the department is proactive in providing a quality operational performance.
7. Develop in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the role to ensure full ownership.
8. Deal with customer queries in relation to logistics.
Required Experience & Qualifications
1. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Proven experience in supply chain logistics, ideally within the construction sector, will set you up for success.
3. With a knack for problem-solving and the ability to thrive in a demanding environment, you are ready to tackle any challenge that comes your way.
4. A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is desirable.
