Customs Administrator
Location & Working Hours:
Naas Co Kildare - Mon – Fri 0900 – 1730 – Saturday mornings needed (flexi time in lieu)
Purposes of the Job:
To support the Customs Division in the reporting of NON EU goods under DSV control and ensuring customs entries are prepared in line with customs regulations.
Key tasks – Responsibilities:
1. Liaising with customers to gather correct info for customs purposes.
2. Producing costings and quotations.
3. Liaising with Revenue and ensuring we are compliant with regulations.
4. Receiving and processing Import documentation.
5. Import Customs Clearances.
6. Export customs declarations.
7. Manage / monitor entries until completion.
Skills required:
1. Excellent communication skills.
2. Excellent attention to detail.
3. Logistics / Forwarding background (desirable not essential).
4. Team player who can also work on their own initiative when required.
5. Custom clearance experience (min 1-2 years).
6. IT skills in Microsoft office.
7. Ability to work in a pressurised environment.
8. Time management skills.
9. Adaptability & Flexibility.
Work Experience:
* Minimum 1 years experience working within a freight forwarding environment with some exposure to dealing with NON EU countries.
* Enjoy working in a target-driven team environment.
* Be self-motivated with drive and initiative.
* Be proficient in current software options - Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Good verbal, written communication and listening skills.
