Job Summary
The Sous Chef II role is responsible for assisting with the overall success of the food program and overseeing culinary functions. Key responsibilities include planning, ordering, inventory management, and food preparation.
This position adheres to client guidelines, Health Department regulations, and company standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. The Sous Chef II motivates, trains, develops, and directs back-of-house associates to meet customer, client, and management expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and participate in food preparation and cooking.
* Assist in planning and creating menus.
* Roll out new culinary programs with the marketing and culinary teams.
* Manage cost controls and expenditure.
Qualifications:
* 5 years of related culinary experience, including 1 year of supervisory or lead experience.
* Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, and/or related food service operations.
* Knowledge of food trends, focusing on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.
* Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.
* Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.
* ServSafe or Department of Health Certification preferred.
* Computer skills and MS Office products, including Excel.
* Associate's degree in Culinary Arts preferred.
