We are currently looking for a food safety auditor to join the team. You will ideally have a retail background and should be able to work independently, be innovative, and have a desire to participate in change, and appreciate a dynamic environment. Key areas you will be involved in are the food safety audits for our fresh food and seafood counters, restaurants and coffee shops within our stores. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and actioning results from audits, continuously following up to ensure the required standards are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities
Quality management
1. Reporting to the Food Safety Brand Manager, you will be responsible for conducting, monitoring and managing food safety audits in each of our stores in ROI and NI to the required standards along with other food safety tasks as required.
2. You will work alongside the food safety audit manager, ensuring that these audits are done in a timely manner and that follow ups, as required, are also completed.
3. Ensure the HACCP systems for all brands are implemented in all units and work with the food safety audit manager to update and develop as necessary.
4. Liaise with all internal departments / senior brand managers including buying, chefs and operations to deliver consistently safe, legally compliant and excellent quality units.
5. Support the product withdrawal / recall process.
6. Conduct quality control checks within Head Office as required.
7. Conduct food safety training as required.
8. Conduct supplier audits as required.
Legal compliance
1. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge on all matters pertaining to food safety legislation.
2. Manage and implement food safety policy in line with regulatory and company standards.
Key Relationships
1. Food safety brand manager, hospitality brand managers, chefs, food technical, product development, buying and suppliers.
Key Experience/Skills
1. Full driving license is required for this role
2. Excellent attention to detail.
3. Highly organised and methodical approach to work.
4. Excellent management and communication skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
6. 3rd level degree in food science, food safety, or similar.
7. Level 6 QQI Auditing and Food Safety Management Systems Credential or similar
8. Experience working in an audit role in the food industry.
9. Strong understanding of current legislative food safety requirements.
10. Ability to analyse, understand and solve problems.
Please note this will be a National role across Ireland, travel will be required weekly to complete audits across 103 sites.
