As the Networks Telecoms Safety Manager, you will be a key member of the Networks Telecoms leadership group, providing support and direction to all staff on matters of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing.

In this leadership position, you will be responsible for promoting our Safe and Sound culture and ensuring that our safety processes and structures are actively maintained and continually improved.
This role is pivotal in promoting a safe working environment and embedding our shared values as we work to deliver ESB Networks' Net Zero Strategy.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Safety Initiatives:
Cultivate a strong safety culture, ensuring that safety is prioritised and valued at all stages of our activities.
Inspire and motivate the Networks Telecoms team to embrace safety as a core value
Team Leadership:
Oversee and mentor a team of safety specialists, encouraging professional growth and ensuring high performance.
Provide clear direction, support, and development opportunities
Governance Framework Management:
Lead the management of the Networks Telecoms Safety and Business Risk Governance Framework, ensuring robust and effective risk management practices
Strategic Integration:
Champion the integration of ESB Networks safety processes and systems into Networks Telecoms, aligning with broader organisational goals and strategies
Compliance Leadership:
Ensure compliance with all safety and health legislation and the ESB Networks ISO45001 Safety Management System through a structured program of risk assessment, documented safe systems of work, training, and approvals.
Lead by example in promoting adherence to safety standards
Documentation Oversight:
Oversee the development and maintenance of Networks Telecoms documentation (including Safety Work-Packs) in compliance with the OneSource standard, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and accessibility
Culture Change Leadership:
Drive cultural change initiatives to embed a proactive safety mindset across Networks Telecoms.
Promote continuous improvement and innovation in safety practices, encouraging a culture of openness, learning, and accountability
Business Transformation:
Support business transformation initiatives, ensuring that safety and health considerations are integrated into all aspects of change management.
Drive innovation and efficiency improvements within the safety team
Statutory and Legal Responsibilities:
Ensure all Statutory obligations and safety responsibilities are met, including compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety legislation requirements and best practices and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
Experience and QualificationsProven safety leadership experienceA technical or engineering qualification or equivalent work experienceA full clean driving license.

Capability to work with people at all levels of the organisation, building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.
A relevant health and safety qualification.
Safety auditor trainingRegulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations
Technical Expertise:
Technical knowledge of ESB's electrical and/or telecommunications networks
Documentation Skills:
Experience with writing and publishing documentation to the OneSource standard.
LocationThe position is based in the ESB offices in Leopardstown, Dublin.
Flexibility for travel to meetings in other ESB offices or sites throughout Ireland is required.
