We are currently recruiting a Site Health and Safety Officer to support large projects for clients in the Limerick / Midwest / Galway areas.
The Site Health and Safety Officer will act as the construction safety specialist for the project, ensuring all site works are carried out safely in compliance with regulatory and Company requirements.
Responsibilities Reporting to onsite EHS Manager on site; Construction Specialist for Environmental, Health, Safety Programmes will ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, local and industry requirements.
Ensuring that all site works are carried out to the highest EHS standards inc. all planning conditions, IE License,.
Promote an open continuous improvement culture in relation to all health, safety, and environmental work practices on the site/project.
Promoting a positive safety culture onsite with contractors, PM's, encouraging the reporting of incidents/near misses such that lessons can be learnt with continuous improvement/prevention of risk.
Assure Client/PSDP/PSCS EHS compliance for projects, compiling EHS documents for management of projects, reviewing of projects with key PM's and stakeholders.
Develop / Deliver / Relay EHS KPI of all works via timely presentations, timely reviews.
Issuing timely updates on EHS compliance to client/contractors alike.
Compile EHS documents for monthly Client/PSDP/PSCS EHS requirements.
Issuing reports/updates for same to key stakeholders.
Retaining EHS documentation system in shared cloud.
Carrying out EHS walkdowns, audits, inspections, interventions - issuing reports for same, escalation issues and application of disciplinary procedures.
Manage/escalate/action all accident/incident investigations and outcomes with follow up tracking to conclusion.
Reviewing contractors EHS submissions for project(s).
Supporting Scheduling/Planning, Permit to work, Contractor Management and Statutory Works for main project and interface with live operations/client premises.
Supporting EHS dept with SOP's, Client/PSDP/PSCS queries & tasks, Training preparation & delivery and permitting.
Raise EHS concerns that needs to be escalated and addressed by assigned/competent persons/project management.
Assisting with contractor safety qualification process.
Compiling, updating and communication of site Emergency Plans Co-ordinate the investigation of incidents, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implemented.
Influence employee work practices through dialogue, relationship building and behavioural safety coaching.
Qualifications Hold a relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (or other related studies).
Proven competence of health, safety and welfare regulations, guidelines, and best practices in Construction.
Experience in an EHS construction role or similar position, ideally within a pharm/med tech/life science with a live operational environment.
Proficient in MS Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and safety management software.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships.
